  Dr. Thomas' responsibilities include:

  • Developing, recommending, and implementing efficient, environmentally sound control programs to manage plant pathogens, weeds and other organisms.
  • Providing consultation for vegetation management and invasive species control at golf courses, ball fields, turf and ornamental and industrial areas for Navy and Marine Corps installations, including both IPM and chemical control recommendations.
  • Developing and conducting training and certification programs for installation pest control operators and installations.
  • Conducting on-site reviews to evaluate pest management programs in terms of environmental compatibility, legal compliance and effectiveness.
  • Developing contract specifications and government estimates for vegetation management services.
