Jessica Palenchar

Hello all. I was born in California and raised in Satellite Beach, Florida. I decided I wanted to have a career working with plants while in high school. I am excited to be following up on that decision by joining the DPM program. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from New College of Florida. New College is a small, public honors college in Sarasota, Fl. I was introduced to sustainable and organic farming methods for producing food while studying at New College. My undergraduate thesis focused on the effects of mycorrhizae on the growth and health of tomato seedlings and possibilities of use in agriculture (particularly organic agriculture). After I graduate from the DPM program I plan on working to integrate environmentally sustainable methods for plant care into mainstream agriculture. When I am not studying I am kept busy by my husband John, stepson Basil, and two little boys, Edon and Ezikai.
