Kirk Martin
I’m originally from Massachusetts but have spent considerable time in the Pacific Northwest after a six year stint in the U.S. Navy working in electronics. After finishing my enlistment, I received my B.S. degree at Washington State University studying General Biology (Microbiology). Since graduating, I’ve worked in the Environmental Health and Safety field as a Biosafety Officer for the last ten years at two New England universities and previous to that as a Health Inspector for County government. My life-long interest in horticulture prompted me to take a different path and enter the Doctor of Plant Medicine program, I am particularly interested in ornamentals, fruit-bearing trees and plants and biological controls. In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my wife and daughter; cultivating carnivorous and other exotic plant species; and visiting as many botanical gardens as time and funds permit.
