Effect of Farming Practices on Soil Arthropods, USDA, ARS, Ft. Pierce, FL

Catherine Dover interned as a research assistant with the USDA, ARS in the Summer of 2003. Her project investigated the effect of rotation crops on populations of soil arthropods as an indicator of overall soil health. She found that the greatest number and diversity of arthropods extracted from soil occurred with a weed fallow followed by organic production and rotation of Bahiagrass and Savannah Stylo.
